Goyathalay
one who yawns

"I was born on the prairies
where the wind blew free

and there was nothing to break the light of the sun."

Geronimo
Apache
warrior
leader of a nation
man

"i was born where there were no enclosures."

enclosed at the end in
broken light and shackled winds
he escaped into the sky
into the light of the sun.

now it is rumored
the white man took even
the peace of the grave
his skull and bones

stolen like the land
kissed in secret by
thin lipped blue bloods

Goyathly
one who yawns
Geronimo
Apache
warrior
leader of a nation
man

yawns in their faces
and laughs.

Fine poem, Sherry, and agree that the whole Skull & Bones thing is creepy and profoundly lacking in respect. Pity is that John Kerry was also a member.

yes, it is all that and more!
i take a dim view of secret societies as a whole and when the members are all the extremely wealthy and politically connected well....

as i wrote to chris. if this is true and i can understand how it might be, ethics and morals were different way back then. all one has to do is to look back on the way a lot of people were treated or regarded then, i just think the only decent thing to do is to have them offer their appologies and give back his remains to be buried in all dignity.
