announcement....

bob now has a friend!
her name is layla and she is just a sweetie.
i had gone to the one shelter to see the cat i
had seen on -line BUT she has an upper respiratory
infection and has 10 days to go on antibiotics.the poor
little dear was sneezing and had a very runny nose and eyes
and naturally i was concerned about bob and spreading it to him.
they tried to assure me that i would be ok and that i could just
give her the meds myself and keep them away from each other.
i called my vet who said, "no way." so i went instead to animal friends
which is quite a ways from my place but boy was i glad!
their new building is beautiful. it is very, very clean and
the animals there all seem well cared for and the paperwork
and records look to be quite well done.

anyway, i have layla here in one room so that she and bob can
get to know each other slowly and i have an appt. with my vet at the end of the month.

layla was abandoned and in poor shape, but she is fine now.
she is sort of a tortie/calico mix. short hair looks like she was
swished around in brown, black, gold and white paint that was floating on top
of the water. she has 1 golden eye, the other was lost to her and the vet sewed
it shut.
she is much smaller than bob, supposed to be around 2 years of age.
i named her LAYLA because i told her she was beautiful enough
to have a song
named for her!!!

in a few days when she feels more at ease, i will take her picture and then
post it for you all to see how sweet she is.

hi, that new building is really something!

so is layla.
she is meowing behind the door and bob is laying here on the other side and just looking and sniffing and every now and then he goes up to the door and touches it with a paw. they aren't growling at each other. that's a good sign anmd when i went in, layla rubbed all over me and twhen jumped off the bed and drank some of her water and ate some food.
i'm hoping everything will go alright.
i was amazed tho, at the size of some of the cats there, my god, there were a few that i swear had to go about 25 lbs!
