In reviewing 30,000 pages of documents from Veterans Affairs, Americans United said, it found e-mail and memorandums referring to negative comments President Bush made about Wicca in an interview with “Good Morning America” in 1999, when he was governor of Texas. The interview had to do with a controversy at the time about Wiccan soldiers’ being allowed to worship at Fort Hood, Tex.

“I don’t think witchcraft is a religion,” Mr. Bush said at the time, according to a transcript. “I would hope the military officials would take a second look at the decision they made.”

they can die for us but...

shame on mr. bush

The image you show has a 5 pointed star with two points up. This is incorrect. The symbol the Wiccans chose was with the one point up -- the four elements and spirit.

Not all Wiccans and neo-pagans use this symbol, although it probably is the most common in the United States.

They did not choose the two point up symbol because of it's use by Satanists and because it is associated in the popular mindset with evil. The inverted pentagram has some other meaning among most Wiccans, and would not be used as a symbol of the religion or as a grave marker.

The pentagram in the middle ages was a Christian symbol, with the points indicating the five wounds of Christ -- there were other uses as well.

The symbol probably dates back to prehistoric times and is associated with Venus. There is a certain type of Venusian conjunction (I forget which) that draws out a perfect pentagram on the zodiac.
