News of the Kent State massacre spread across the country, provoking more unrest. As a result, hundreds of colleges were shut down or disrupted by protests. At NYU, students plan their own www.nyu.edu/library/bobst/collections/exhibits/arch/1970/1970-2.html

i was in the pittsburgh demonstration.
i wasn't in college(long story) but i had friends in
point park and cmu and pitt and duquesne. i had no idea that there was a protest planned or that point park had decided not to join in.
i was sitting at a little lunch place right across the blvd of the allies
(on the blvd and wood) from point park college(now university)
when i heard about it about 10 minutes before an absolute sea of kids
from the other colleges(pgh is a college city) comes down the blvd towards the intersection with wood st.
and i ended up right there. thankfully tho there were a few kids that were trying to piss off the cops, by and large they were(as i was) solemn (for the occasion, they were i can attest)and the police were really good at their jobs at keeping things cool.
but i thought then and even more now, "what if?"

"what if?"
