i went to my nephew's fiance's bridal shower today.
he and marta are getting married next month. they've been going together since high school, about 10 years now.
i got to meet marta's mom for the first time today. she seems like a really neat lady and a lot of fun.

this was one of the gifts to go with a margarita set.

i had never heard if it but marta assured me it's very good.

hi, i don't drink much. when i do it's usually a white russian in cooler weather and rum and diet coke in the summer or a zima or 2.

i have been known to do a shooter of yukon for special occasions.

i did tho, perfect the art of eating the worm from a bottle of teqilla. i learned when i turned 50. i figured i made it to 50, why not lern something unexpected of me? it was fun grossing grown men out. : )

also got a tattoo for my 50th.
one of the best things i ever did for myself. saved up my money and thought long and hard about it and got it done. it was something that was all my decision and just for me.

margarita's are tasty but too acidic for me.

Good for you, Gurrrrl! Taking chances and learning new tricks is sadly rare among people our age (yes, I'm in my mid-50s.) I think growing is essential to living, and without it we're just dyin' slow.

Loving your poetry, by the way. I used to drive my survey crew out of the vehicle by turning up Garrison Keillor's Writers' Almanac; they assumed that if I liked poetry, I must be gay!

Douchebags, I tell ya. ;)

gay, geeezzz.

a lot of my poems are in the fitst few months of this blog because they are poems that were finished and published already.

then they are more scattered through out along with some really great stuff from friends and/or fellow pk poets plus some classics along the way and whatever else i felt like writing about. i hope you enjoy it.

thanks.
