got this over at spork's. great post.

"The Mouldering Corpse Of St. Ronnie
In her closing statement last night, Simply Sarah stated:

We have to fight for our freedoms, also, economic and our national security freedoms.
It was Ronald Reagan who said that freedom is always just one generation away from extinction. We don't pass it to our children in the bloodstream; we have to fight for it and protect it, and then hand it to them so that they shall do the same, or we're going to find ourselves spending our sunset years telling our children and our children's children about a time in America, back in the day, when men and women were free.

Palin would seem to be talking about national security but if so there's a small problem: The Reagan quote was from a 1960's diatribe against Medicare (or "socialized medicine", as he called it).

So was Palin simply misinformed by her minders? Or was it a dog-whistle to the rightwing base?

You can listen to Ronnie's rant here."
