I read this today in the local paper. I should get my head out of the sand because I just assumed that all therapists were on the page that treating "gayness" is wrong. Apparently I've spent too much time in Massachusetts, where we can mostly take that for granted.

I suppose as long as there is homophobia, there will be people who want to be "cured" because they've brainwashed and/or threatened with abandonment or worse by their families. Particularly young people. So sad to realize that this type of thinking still exists in the practice of mental health treatment.

a lot of these "therapists" that think you can change someone's natural instinct are "uberchristians"

it's sad and it is so very wrong.

and, it's arrogant to boot!

could they change the fact that i'm straight by therapy and prayer?
