we started to clear out mom's apt. today. took all her clothes and gave them to a friend of her's that mom had given things to before.
my mother was an avid reader. she ate books! so we took all the ones on her bookshelves and brought them downstairs to the community room library.

there is a little older man that lives on the same floor,he is very childlike and we gave him quite a few things that he needed and the guardian angel plaque from her door.

my niece is getting the daybed and i'm taking the couch to replace the one that layla destroyed. there are some odds and ends of furniture there that we promised out and some pots and silverware, lamps etc.

i'm glad everything will be going to good use.

i stopped at the store after we were done for the day and bought special thank you cards for a few friends.

tomorrow- we scrub!

I think it's wonderful that you KNOW your mom is NOT and never was her stuff, but that she lives on in memories if her stuff goes to a good home. So many people never ever get that.

I wish you peace and blessings, dear Sherry. xo

thanks fran.i've always believed and was taught this by my grandparents, that it's a blessing to be able to pass things on to those who need them.

my mom lived a grand life. she always was on the go up until the moment she died. she was getting dressed in the morning to go shopping and had her watch in her hand! she passed before she hit the ground.

my father, we cared for him for 6 years of a few different forms iof cancer and copd and diabetes and other ills. he died ugly and hard. her death was a blessing.
