I just saw Rachel Maddow challenge him on her show. I don't believe he's a hateful racist, he's just seriously misguided about the role of government and it colors his views on everything, including the civil rights act. Misguided is an understatement. This is a very dangerous and irresponsible view to take on the civil rights act.

plus , around here, all of the people i know that support his dad are very very racist. they love his ideas.
