a wet rainy friday-got the grocery shopping done early. have some chores round here. going to be a very busy weekend.
have a scholarship meeting this weekend. this will be my last year on the committee. i will miss it. i am very attached to the concept of these scholarships and to the many people involved with them over the years but i'm tired and i have scaled back a lot of my activities over the past few years.
i still write twice a week for WORLD WIDE HIPPIES, plus i do what i can on-line to work towards my political ideals and my charities i support plus i try to boost local businesses. i still have my own writings that i have neglected for too long and i have my family and friends.
that and age , well, something's gotta give. the remaining members are more than capable so i don't feel i'm leaving them in a lurch.
truth be told, unless there's something out of the ordinary going on i'm under my covers by 9 at the latest!

Lobbying Disclosures Reveal Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels Used State Dollars To Lobby For Keystone XL Pipeline: pRecently released lobbying disclosures show that Gov. The pipeline does not go through Indiana, and few, if any, Indiana workers are expected to [...]/p

Billionaire Bill Gates Calls For Increasing Taxes On The Rich: ‘That’s Just Justice’: pLast night in his State of the Union address, President Obama once again urged Congress to pass the Buffett rule, noting that 25 percent of American millionaires pay less in taxes that millions of families in the middle-class. Republicans were quick to dismiss his request as “the politics of envy and division.” However, multi-billionaire Bill [...]/p
CREDO Mobile We agree. That's just justice. And common sense. All those millionaires and billionaires paying only 15% on most of their income have George W. Bush to thank for lowering rates on dividends and capital gains to that foolishly low level. The low rates being paid by the likes of Mitt Romney are very recent history and explain some of the increasing wealth gap - and can be reversed.

Over a period of about five years, Reagan told the story of the "Chicago welfare queen" who had 80 names, 30 addresses, 12 Social Security cards, and collected benefits for "four nonexisting deceased husbands," bilking the government out of "over $150,000." The real welfare recipient to whom Reagan referred was actually convicted for using two different aliases to collect $8,000. Reagan continued to use his version of the story even after the press pointed out the actual facts of the case to him." Washington Monthly

You have been hearing Newt mention in all of his useless speeches a man by the name of Saul Alinsky. Saul Alinsky was a community organizer. His organizing skills across the country in poor neighborhoods would receive great praise. That praise would then lead him to African American communities to improve their conditions as well. Saul was praised for his wo...rk and "often COMPARED" to Thomas Paine,... one of the Founding Fathers. (You know, "the founding fathers" the republicans often refer to in all of their speeches and hang their every word on) Newt likes to put Obama and now the Alinsky name all in one sentence, as if to suggest to it's audience, "a dirty combination." Code for Jew and black man. Newt never states the relationship many saw in Alinsky and Paine. Nope! He will distance himself from that end of it. He knows he can't succeed in his rhetoric if he were to mention Paine/Alinsky, in the same sentence. No way can he say one of our founding fathers names in the same sentence as Obama/Alinsky = Thomas Paine.....whom by the way also wrote the book on "common sense." Yes, Paine wrote the book on common sense....Newt must ignore that mans name. The audience must never know what good company Obama is in. The audience must go away thinking ugly, dirty, thoughts of the "Jew and the black man".......while avoiding how Thomas Paine fits into all of this as well. The man who wrote the book on Common Sense!! We (republicans) must keep our distance from common sense....
Tim Waters:
"The National Government will regard it as its first and foremost duty to revive in the nation the spirit of unity and cooperation. It will preserve and defend those basic principles on which our nation has been built. It regards Christianity as the foundation of our national morality, and the family as the basis of national life." - Adolph Hitler "My New World Order" - Proclamation to the German Nation, Berlin...

Seniors for a Democratic Society
. "Enter Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Penn.). At the behest of the Roman Catholic Church, and unbeknownst to the Home, Santorum slipped an amendment into the 1999 National Defense Authorization Act handcuffing how the home could cash in on those 49 acres. The amendment forced the Home to sell—and not lease—the land to its next-door neighbor, the Catholic University of America.... Ultimately, the Catholic Church bought 46 acres of the tract for $22 million. The Home lost the land for good, and by its own estimates, pocketed $27 million less than the land's value and $83 million less than what it could've made under the lease plan. Santorum's amendment sparked an outcry from veterans' groups and fellow US senators, who barraged his office with complaints."
me- i posted a long article about this before- but this puts it even plainer!
A
man is driving down a deserted stretch of highway
when
he notices a sign out of the corner of his eye...
It
reads:
SISTERS
OF ST. FRANCIS
HOUSE
OF PROSTITUTION
10
MILES
He
thinks this is a figment of his imagination and drives on without second
thought.
Soon
he sees another sign which reads:
SISTERS
OF ST. FRANCIS
HOUSE
OF PROSTITUTION
5
MILES
Suddenly
he begins to realize that these signs are for real and drives past a third sign
saying:
SISTERS
OF ST. FRANCIS
HOUSE
OF PROSTITUTION
NEXT
RIGHT
His
curiosity gets the best of him and he pulls into the drive. On the far side of
the parking lot
is
a stone building with a small sign next to the door
reading:
SISTERS
OF ST. FRANCIS
He
climbs the steps and rings the bell. The door is answered by a nun in a long
black habit who asks,
'What
may we do for you! my son?'
He
answers, 'I saw your signs along the highway and was interested in possibly
doing business....'
'Very
well my son. Please follow me.' He is led through many winding passages and is
soon quite disoriented.
The
nun stops at a closed door and tells the man, 'Please knock on this
door.'
He
does so and another nun in a long habit, holding a tin cup answers the door.
This
nun instructs, 'Please place $100 in the cup then go through the large wooden
door at the end of the hallway.'
He
puts $100 in the cup, eagerly trots down the hall and slips through the door
pulling it shut behind him.
The
door locks, and he finds himself back in the parking lot facing another
sign:
GO
IN PEACE.
YOU
HAVE JUST BEEN SCREWED BY
THE
SISTERS OF ST. FRANCIS.

How convenient that God is so forgiving to Republicans. They take it as license that they can sin against their fellow man without questioning their actions. After all, what is the incentive not to sin when all will be forgiven anyway? What a bunch of hypocrites.
me- and wasn't it said, "go forth and sin no more"? republican's always seem to forget that part- just ask newt!
i don't care about a person's private life EXCEPT when, like newt- they spent tons of tax payer's monies to try to impreach a guy( all the while he was cheating himself) for consentual sex- yes, a private matter NOW, to newt AND splash the transcripts of that impreachment hearing all over the media and THEN get all huffy and indignant when the tables have turned!
