thanks, i am very proud of these scholarships. they are small ones, but can be put towards any need, bus passes, books, food, whatever. they are based on a student's work ethic and drive more than grade point averages and the student doesn't have to be going to a traditional 2 or 4 year college. they could be going to, say, an automotive training school or to become a hair stylist or to an art school. i liked the idea of that as well. i was also the first(yes, there are clubs like this around) woman to be appointed to any board or committee other than the ladies auxilliary. i help not only to fund raise but to judge the applicants essays. i really enjoy it. anyway, my fingers are crossed!
