Sad to hear, I'm listening to his music even now.....
it was a shock to hear about it.
The timing! I was still delighting in having picked up an absolute bargain (99c plus postage) - a double CD of prime Godfather of Soul - on eBay when I read the news on a message board (made the local telecasts later).
I regret not going to see him again now. I saw him at the Hordern Pavilion but didn't have a good vantage spot. Guess you had to get there early.
i never saw him live, but many many times on t.v. and i grew up with his music. you can't have grown up in pittsburgh without it.
