That sounds fun. I too love to shop for little treasures. A cool greeting card or two; a canle; a little box.

Gorgeous day today - we went to brunch at a college town and the kids were all showing a lot of skin! I bought a really cool, brightly colored bag with plenty of room for everything I need to carry.

neat. today i have to work at a meatloaf dinner fund raiser for the scholarship fund that i am on.

i like this little local scholarship program because it is based on work ethics and a desire to succeed in life. the winners get 500.00 each to put towards any expenses they might have, no restrictions. they do not have to be A students nor do they have to be attending a college. it can be a trade school etc. i like that.

Sherry, that's great. Both my girls got a bunch of little schalorships like that and they really came in handy. Weird, though, that my yougest got one for $250, submitted a transcript of her grades as requested, sent a nice thank you note and never got the money.

Anyway, good that you help out in your community. I hope it goes well.

well that sucks!

i like ours because the kids get the cash. it isn't sent to the school and just taken off of the tuition. my daughter has her master's in physical therapy and there were always lab fees and 100.00 books and the externships were non paying so she had to have money for gas etc. she worked the whole way thru and had loans and her father and i paid(oh a lot) but if she had been given cash instad of a few small grants and things that went right to the school it would have helped so much more. thankfully she lived at home and commuted to college. we could have never been able to afford room and board on top of everything else.
