HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Greetings to all the NF community!

It is my privilege, as the new Executive Director of Neurofibromatosis – Mid-Atlantic, to be able to celebrate this season with you and extend wishes for a wonderful 2009.

It is my resolution for the New Year to have an opportunity to meet as many of you as possible and hear directly from you how NF-Mid-Atlantic can help serve you in the next year.

I don’t believe that I can remember a more dramatic or challenging time.
All of you know the financial stresses that exist right now throughout the world. People are struggling. This effort is particularly trenchant and pointed when a family or individual is dealing with NF. It is the rare group or person who understands the effects of Neurofibromatosis if they’re not living with it everyday as someone with NF, or as a loved one.

Now, more than ever, there is urgency to have a multi-faceted plan to raise awareness about NF: for sensitivity, for acceptance, for research, and ultimately for a cure!

That said there is much to be excited about at NF Mid-Atlantic this upcoming year. We have plans underway, for instance, for a far-reaching public awareness campaign that encompasses a ‘new look’; new communication strategies to reach our community; and winning friends in the non-NF community.

Finally, this is not a commercial for funding, I assure you, but if you haven’t taken the opportunity to include NF Mid-Atlantic in your end-of-year contributions, the time has come. You know it’s important.

Thank you for this opportunity to “talk with you”. I would love to hear from you and would welcome an email or chat. Our phone number is 866-261-1271, and my email is: barbra@nfmidatlantic.org

Best to you and the happiest of holidays from all of us at NF Mid-Atlantic!

Barbra Levin,
Executive Director
