we finally had to break down and get covers for the sofa and loveseat. layla has trashed them to the point
where places are down to the wooden frame. so i got a heavy cotton duck covering and she is pissed. too bad. if i hadn't promised not to have her front claws removed she wouldn't be able to rip stuff up. i've tried everything available(and some that aren't) to stop her. she gets her nails trimmed regularly at the vet's office. but she delights in tearing furniture. so, covers it is. so far, so good.

A friend took a 4x4 and wrapped heavy rope around it. The kitties seem to enjoy clawing at it, but not... exclusively.
my bob, is a sweetie. he has his front claws removed. all of my other cats have been declawed.
they NEVER had a problem. sammi lived to be 20 years old. puff was 17.
but animal friends said that they don't believe in it and say it's cruel. they do have declawed cats there that people have given up but i wanted a cat that they could assure me, got alone with other animals. layla does. she is a sweet cat except for the clawing and so, i just have to work around it.
she's mine now and i do love here.
but bob, he is a real jewel.
