poetry and politics and assorted odd things
My walnut trees have begun losing their leaves (I'm always first in the neighborhood) and the damn walnuts themselves have begun rolling merrily off my roof all night.
i have acorns hitting my roof every fall. not too many yet but they are coming. walnuts must make an even louder sound.
Why, yes, yes they do. Especially around 3-4 AM, on a vaulted roof with little insulation. But between that and the mouse scratchings in my bedroom wall, I've learned that they're just the sounds of my house. ;)
they can be very comforting sounds.
