from fb-me- i think some folks really need to read this-thanks

Much of the gridlock we're now seeing in Congress over raising the debt ceiling is due to the recalcitrance of insurgent freshman Congressmen who refuse to raise any taxes. It's hard to feel sorry for House Speaker John Boehner, but he's pulling his hair out over the current impasse. A lot of the blame rests squarely on the shoulders of Grover Norquist, who founded Americans for Tax Reform in 1985 at the request of Richard Nixon, after Norquist served a stint as chief speech writer at the notorious U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Somehow, over the years, Norquist has hoodwinked, cajoled and otherwise extorted incoming Congressional freshmen into signing an oath NOT to raise taxes. This has to stop. De facto, Norquist has become one of the most powerful men in the party, yet remains relatively unknown to most Americans. Norquist, by his grip on Republican lawmakers, should be considered a fiscal terrorist for sabotaging the political process.
