The thing that gets me about the English word "love" is how hard we make it work: I have to love my wife, my daughter, my siblings, my cat, my country, humanity, chocolate, back rubs and the soundtrack to The Hours all with the one word. A lot of work for one wee word to cope with.
i didn't think the clown motif showcased the song very well other than to suggest the heroin saw herself as a misfit unworthy of the hero's love.
i read an article, or heard on the radio, that the song was actually written about an older couple in Ingrid's family that had that ageless loving dynamic....

that is true, very true and a lot of the time it's a very misused word.

that is a rare and beautiful thing. my grandparents were married for 63 years. he was 20 and she was 15. they were lovers and best friends!
