The hurricane season in the Northern Atlantic Ocean generally starts on June 1.  This could be a momentous opening because last year's season was the costliest on record.  Primarily due to three storms (Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria), the estimated damage total in 2017 exceeded $282 billion.  Now more recent information also suggests that the toll in human lives exacted by Hurricane Maria might have been vastly more than initially reported.

Puerto Rico officials set the death toll from September 2017's Hurricane Maria at 64, but a recent Harvard study based on a survey of Puerto Rican households estimates the number of dead at closer to 5,000.

In June 2018, a year-old story about Ivanka Trump's fashion line being rebranded under the label "Adrienne Vittadini" to expose her products to unwitting buyers circulated as new news. (Mostly False)
