Sherry, I'll have to pass on this one. Always a dilemma to know which team to support in a sporting event. Some know exactly which side they support. Others are not so 'clearly' defined. But one team has got to win. That does not make the winning team more 'righteous'. They just had more resources, or a better team, or were luckier on the day. Then we all go home. "Sadly" and I say that in inverted homes, for I am not saddened by death - in War there are many from both sides who do not return to their 'earthly' homes. I think you would better understand what I mean if Italy and the US were at war with each other - an event highly unlikely to happen. Italy put up little resistance in WWII, but not many Italians were as committed or obligated, as the German's were to their cause or the 'fatherland'

Love days like today, big soft grey (and low) cotton clouds. Yet the sunlight gets beneath them and makes the leaves on the trees shine silver (silver/green). Laters ... Q

oh, i think i understand. in WWII my one uncle was a navagator on a bomber. his parents, my grandparents were born in italy, but, my uncle, despite the fact that all of his relatives except 1 uncle were still in italy, had to fly missions in italy and then germany.
war is an ugly thing.
my point is to just remember those that no matter how one views history or now, did what they thought best and some who gave everything.
rightous? ah, there's a word i seldom use. i try to treat everyone as i would wish to be treated and leave the judgements to the divine.
but i do support the troops, as i support all people and pray that someday we can all, the whole human race, be at peace. guess i still have some of the 60's in me. : )
death, saddens me, even in those that are elderly and suffering, tho i am happy when their suffering has ended for they are at peace, i grieve for those that have to live without their presence anymore.
on this day, i ponder wars and reasons and hope that we as human beings take lessons from all the wars in the past and now and learn peace.

Yep, one of the imponderables war. Shan't go into 'conspiracy theories' today - but the causes of some 'justified' wars and vested interests are only thinly veiled. Peace to all who gave & give their lifes for the right reasons.
